What started with an anonymous $6 Million gift from one donor in early 2016 to cover the cost of a new roof, led to our congregation committing to ensuring our church legacy lives on for generations to come. In February of this year, Trinity Episcopal Church launched the “Securing Our Future” endowment campaign to preserve our physical plant in perpetuity. Within two months, members and friends committed an additional $5.1 Million, bringing the amount raised to over $11 Million. Considering that only five years ago our parish’s very existence was in question, the success is inspiring.
A strong vision and mission for a church endowment campaign are only as strong as its members’ faith and generosity. Our new endowment now gives our parish the wherewithal to maintain our physical campus for future generations without impacting the operating budget. By doing so, we can utilize our annual giving funds for mission projects – a goal our parish has long envisioned. New mission programs are underway to benefit children and youth, new and expectant parents, and older members and growing families in the Vero Beach and Indian River County communities.
Under the leadership of Fr. Christopher Rodriguez, Trinity Episcopal Church is flourishing. Since 2012, membership has grown by almost 40%. We are now one of the fastest-growing parishes in the Diocese of Central Florida. In January 2018, by request of Bishop Brewer and his desire to “shine a light on all the great things happening at Trinity Vero,” Trinity Episcopal Church will host the Diocese of Central Florida's Diocesan Convention.
Every opportunity and obstacle in this parish’s 90-year history has been met with a determined family of followers who have answered God’s call to rise and meet the challenge to ensure our church’s very survival and growth. This is a time for our parish to celebrate our rich legacy, strong resolve, and desire to boldly move into the future as a parish on a mission to share the love of Christ.
